Innovation City


Founded in 2014, InnoCit is a technology transfer and product development company focused on advanced power electronic converters and technologies. InnoCit is based in Saint James, Missouri with more than 5,000 sq. ft. of office and laboratory space on a 9.5-acre property. InnoCit’s mission is to become the leading provider of power electronic solutions in solar, energy storage, and automotive applications.


InnoCit has received Phase I and Phase II SBIR awards from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) on the design and development of grid-tied inverters for battery energy storage systems. InnoCit is also the recipient of a Phase I SBIR award from NSF on the design and development of solar string inverters. InnoCit has been a member of PowerAmerica, a DOE center for the advancement and commercialization of wide bandgap semiconductor technologies. InnoCit is also a member of the Missouri Energy Initiative (MEI).

 

Capabilities

InnoCit LLC is capable of designing and prototyping various power electronic converters ranging from Watts to Mega-Watts using Silicon (Si), Silicon-Carbide (SiC), and Gallium-Nitride (GaN) switch technologies. InnoCit has low- and medium-voltage design capabilities and performs in-house finite element thermal design and analysis. Also, reliability testing including thermal cycling, humidity testing, harsh environment testing, mechanical vibration, and surge voltage testing are among our standard testing capabilities.


InnoCit LLC has a team of experts in designing dc-dc, dc-ac, ac-dc, and motor-drives. Our projects include the full design of electrical and mechanical hardware, simulations, thermal analysis, controller design, embedded logic, printed circuit board design, and testing. Examples of our projects include the design of the power stage such as component selection and placement, heatsink design and prototyping, packaging, controllers with digital signal processors, analog circuitry design, programing, user interface, development of advanced and optimal control algorithms, gate driver circuitry design and optimization, electro-magnetic compatibility, and water/oil/air-cooled thermal solutions.
